Preserved/Dried Stems

Dried flowers are real flowers that will last much longer than fresh ones. Instead of wilting after a week, the moisture is removed from the petals and stems, keeping their shape and colour (sometimes softer, sometimes deeper). This makes them a long-lasting, natural way to enjoy the beauty of flowers. They are perfect for decorating, gifting, or keeping as a memory.

Preserved flowers undergo a much more technical process. After the fresh flowers are cut they are then placed, stem first, into glycerine to undergo a rehydration process. Glycerine is a simple polyol compound. It is a colourless, odourless, viscous liquid that is sweet-tasting and non-toxic. The glycerine is absorbed by the flower, through the stem, until it substitutes the sap. After this process is complete, the plant is ready to be used. The final product remains soft and almost exactly like they were in nature.
